About Becky Takes Photos
I’m Becky Bryant, a wedding photographer based in Dorset, working across Hampshire, the New Forest and the UK.
I photograph weddings for couples who care more about people, atmosphere and actual memories than stiff posing or turning their day into a 12-hour photoshoot.
The biggest thing my couples have in common is wanting a wedding that feels like them. Some are alternative, tattooed, colourful and loud. Some are having relaxed pub weddings, forest ceremonies or intimate micro weddings and elopements. Others are planning big traditional weddings with all their favourite people in one place. The vibe changes, but the goal stays the same: photos that feel real.
My work is candid, people-led and full of movement, personality and colour. I focus on the moments that make a wedding actually feel like a wedding. Real emotions, uninterrupts moments as they happen. The emotional bits, the chaos, the atmosphere, the dancefloor, the tiny interactions you miss while everything is happening.
I document the big important parts of the day you expect as well as all the little moments you miss.
I know a lot of people feel awkward in front of a camera, especially couples who do not see themselves as “wedding people”, so I keep things relaxed and easygoing. You will get enough direction to feel comfortable, but without constantly stopping your day or making everything feel staged.
Couples often describe me as calming, supportive and easy to have around. Someone who blends into the day naturally while still catching everything properly. That balance matters to me just as much as the final gallery.
Alongside weddings, I also photograph:
- micro weddings
- elopements
- vow renewals
- alternative weddings
- LGBTQ+ weddings
- festival weddings
- modern traditional weddings
- relaxed weddings
- registry office weddings
- countryside weddings
- city weddings
- celebrant led ceremonies
- handfastings
I regularly work across Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, London and the New Forest, but I photograph weddings all over the UK.

Frequently asked questions
How many photos do wedding photographers usually deliver?
Every wedding is different, so I do not cap the number of images delivered. Full day weddings often receive 400+ edited photographs, including candid moments, guest interactions, details, portraits and key moments throughout the day.
The final number depends on guest count, coverage length, timeline and how many formal group photos you would like.
How many hours of wedding photography coverage do we need?
1–6 hours
Ideal for ceremonies, elopements, micro weddings and shorter celebrations.
8 hours
Usually covers getting ready through to the reception, or ceremony through to first dance.
10–12 hours
Full day wedding coverage including prep, ceremony, portraits, speeches, first dance and evening celebrations.
Coverage is continuous for the hours booked. Extra hours can be added on prior to your date or on the day if needed!
How do we get our wedding photos after the wedding?
Your edited high-resolution wedding photos are delivered through a private online gallery where you can download, share and order prints.
Preview images are usually delivered within one week of your wedding. Full galleries 6-8 weeks, but can take 12 during busy summer periods.
RAW files are not supplied.
How do we book our wedding photographer?
We’ll get a chat in the diary, zoom or over coffee to make sure I’m the right fit for your day.. Then it’s onto a signed contract and 25% booking fee secure your wedding date.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding.
Dates are not held without a signed contract and booking fee.
Can we still have group photos if we want candid wedding photography?
Yes, absolutely. While my photography style is mainly candid and documentary-inspired, I still photograph family groups and important people photos.
I usually recommend keeping formal group photos to around 10-15 combinations so you can spend more time enjoying your wedding and less time standing in lines for photos.
What if we feel awkward infront of the camera?
Most of my couples say this before booking.
I keep portraits relaxed and natural with gentle direction rather than stiff posing. The goal is to help you feel comfortable enough to focus on each other instead of the camera. We’ll go for a walk, have a laugh and make it super chilled, and not too long either!
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes. Engagement and pre-wedding shoots are included with full-day wedding packages.
They are designed to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day.
Dogs and family are always welcome.
Do your wedding packages include travel?
Travel within 70 miles of BH21 is included in all wedding packages, excluding central London.
For weddings further away, full-day coverage may require an additional travel and accommodation fee.
What camera equipment do you use?
I photograph weddings using professional Nikon full-frame mirrorless cameras with dual memory card backup systems and professional lenses. I always bring spare equipment, just in case!
All wedding photos are backed up immediately after the wedding for extra security, and I don’t wipe my memory cards until your wedding is delivered.
Do wedding photographers need to be fed?
Wedding days are long, so a meal is always hugely appreciated, especially for full-day coverage.
I follow a plant-based lifestyle, so advance notice is appreciated if catering is unavailable.
Wedding days are long and I normally take my break while guests are eating, so no one is being photographed mid-mouthful.
Will you Photoshop or heavily retouch our wedding photos?
No. My editing style is natural, colourful and true to the atmosphere of the day.
Retouching is limited to temporary blemishes. I do not offer body reshaping, slimming or heavy manipulation.
My approach is about documenting people naturally rather than making them look like somebody else. You are beautiful and you are enough!
How do we pay for wedding photography?
Payment is currently accepted by bank transfer only.
The booking fee is 25% of the total balance, with final payment due 30 days before the wedding.
